Epichlorohydrin (ECH) is an organochlorine epoxide described by the IUPAC name 2-(chloromethyl)oxirane. It is a colorless, pungent liquid that is miscible with most polar organic solvents, but insoluble in water.

It is primarily used in the production of glycerol, epoxy-based adhesives and resins, specialty water treatment compounds, and elastomers. ECH is sometimes utilized as an organic solvent for cellulose esters and ethers, paints, and varnishes.
