Methyl Isobutyl Carbinol (MIBC) is a colorless stable liquid with a mild alcohol odor. It is miscible with most common organic solvents, and slightly soluble in water.
MIBC is used as a solvent for dyestuffs, oils, gums, resins, waxes, nitrocellulose, and ethylcellulose. It’s also used in organic synthesis, mineral floatation, and in brake fluids.
