applications:

MAA is most commonly used as a copromotor for unsaturated polyester resins. They work best for MEKP-initiated systems, and function by coordinating to a cobalt promotor. MAA doesn't contain a nitrogen group, unlike many other copromotors, so will not leave behind a brownish color after curing.

Methyl acetoacetate can also be used as a pharmaceutical intermediate, in pesticides, or as a solvent for fragrances in the cosmetics and personal care industry.
